new.take.on.weekly.planners.

I enjoy reading other blogs and looking at other people’s handmade crafts online. I recently stumbled upon this photo (via) and it caught my eye, mainly because of the bright orange and the pale blue contrast; I even pinned it on here. I was inspired by the simple idea of turning clothespins into a weekly planner too!

On the original craft above, labels (of the days of the week) were printed out and then cut & pasted on the clothespins.

I wanted to do something similar, but I didn’t have a printer at home. I decided to use these Crayola poster board markers (that I had already), to create my own labels. I chose one color to directly cover one side of the clothespins and then used a different, contrasting color for labeling. This eliminated the need for:

  1. a printer
  2. paper for printing
  3. gluing

(my red poster pen is dying, as you can see by that faded shade on the Sunday pin) ;-)

I admit they don’t look as sophisticated as the first photo, but I ended up with bright, colorful, labeled, clothespins to use as my very own weekly wall planner.

If you have grade school children, I’m sure they could even help you out with this easy craft! ;-)  Sometimes you don’t need to do things the hard way. If you try this at home and then later on, you decide this is not for you, print some labels and you can always glue them over the colored part of your existing clothespins. ;-)

Have a great Wednesday!
